SUPA Chromic Reverse Cut Surgical Suture
The SUPA Chromic surgical suture is a sterile, natural absorbable suture. It is made from 97–98% pure collagen derived from the intestinal mucosa of sheep or cattle. Chromic catgut sutures are part of the surgical suture and needle product line and are treated with chromium salts to increase resistance to enzymatic digestion. The suture is brown in color and is attached to stainless steel needles available in various types and sizes. Chromic catgut sutures are packaged in a preservative solution to maintain flexibility and sterility.
Indications:
Chromic catgut sutures are generally used for approximation or ligation of soft tissues, including ophthalmic and dental surgical procedures.
This suture is absorbable and should not be used in tissues where extended approximation and prolonged tension are required.
Its use is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to collagen, as catgut is collagen-based.
Sterilization:
SUPA chromic catgut sutures are sterilized by irradiation. Do not resterilize this product.
