Instrument Washing Method:
Clean all instruments using water, soap, and a brush while wearing thick protective gloves, ensuring all serrations and surfaces are free from blood or debris.
Immediately rinse any blood-contaminated tools with cold water after use, as dried blood can coagulate and become difficult to remove. Microorganisms present in blood may also survive sterilization if not properly cleaned.
Next, immerse instruments in a disinfectant solution and place them in an ultrasonic cleaner. After this, perform manual cleaning again, dry thoroughly, and pack before autoclaving.
Do not leave the instruments in the disinfectant for more than 10 minutes. Avoid stacking instruments on top of one another — place heavier tools at the bottom. To prevent rust and corrosion, separate any damaged instruments and ensure all locks and joints are open before sterilization.
